Matt Bille is a science writer, novelist, naturalist, and historian living in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

A former Air Force officer, he is the author of four books on science and technology, two novels, and over 30 technical publications and articles on space- and-zoology-related topics. Matt is often sought out to review new scientific books as well.

His newest book, Of Books and Beasts: A Cryptozoologist’s Library (2021), reviews 400 books in that controversial field to help researchers find reliable information. He is the lead author of the NASA-published history The First Space Race: Launching the World’s First Satellites (2004), a ground-breaking account of the early Space Age, and two books on the world’s rarest and least-known animals, Rumors of Existence (1995) and Shadows of Existence (2006). He has been a freelance contributor to major reference books and has published two novels, The Dolmen (horror, 2014) and Raven’s Quest (fantasy, 2018).

He is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, serving on its prestigious History Committee, and a longtime member of the National Association of Science Writers (NASW.)  He has appeared on television programs on mystery animals and blogs on the latest science and technology news at Matt’s Sci/Tech Blog.
